Planting the Future in Miri

The beautiful flora and fauna in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia is world renown and has been attracting tourists from all over the world for centuries. To ensure that future generations of tourists can come to explore and rejoice in the lush nature that covers most of the state, the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), in cooperation with the Sarawak Forestry, is hosting a tree planting ceremony that goes hand in hand with their iconic Jazz Festival in Miri.

The STB is proud to announce that for the second consecutive year, both the Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching as well as the Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri will be accompanied by a tree planting activity. The general public is invited to take part in this festivity that ensures the future of the Rainforest in Sarawak. Interested parties are welcome to plant a seedling on 10th May 2012 in Miri. By doing so, the people can actively participate in the salvation of Borneo’s iconic Rainforest in the Miri area.
