Tony Lakatos started learning music from the tender age of 6 when he first learned the violin and soon after progressed with the saxophone at age 15. After winning a national jazz competition in 1977, he became a professional musician. Upon graduating in 1979 from the jazz department of the Bela Bartók Conservatory in Budapest, he moved to Germany to expand his musical career as a saxophonist.
Some of his key achievements include being the first Hungarian musician who was featured on the Gavin Report Top Ten in the American Jazz Music Radio. He has also toured the whole of Europe as well as USA and Southeast Asia.
