From The Birthplace Of Jazz, THE RAD TRADS Shows How It’s Done

KUCHING, Friday – One of New York’s most entertaining live acts, The Rad Trads are coming to this year’s Borneo Jazz to show us how they play Jazz in the land of its origin.

The Rad Trads’ band members have performed or recorded for various artists such as Truth & Soul Record’s “Lee Fields & The Expressions,” Jon Batiste & Stay Human, EMEFE, Broadway giant Jason Robert Brown, Ikebe Shakedown and Lenny Pickett among many others.

Last year, the band toured throughout the USA at events such as the Atlanta Jazz, Rochester Jazz, Columbus Jazz & Ribs Festival, and the Russian River Jazz & Blues festival opening for Taj Mahal and Buddy Guy, as well as a month-long European festival tour featuring notable collaborations in Italy with Paolo Fresu.

When not touring, the band performs regularly in their hometown, New York City at Brooklyn Bowl, Webster Hall, The Blue Note, BB King’s and Radegast Hall.

The Rad Trads consistently win over audiences with their enthusiasm, bringing their love of the game to a diverse style of soulful American music with influences ranging from early jazz to New Orleans brass band, R&B, the Chicago and delta blues, and rock & roll.

Besides The Rad Trads, the seven confirmed bands are the Klazz Brothers and Cuba Percussion from Germany/Cuba, Yuichiro Tokuda’s RALYZZDIG from Japan, Manou Gallo Groove Orchestra from Belgium/Ivory Coast and O Sister! from Spain.

Also joining in on the fun will be Funkatorie from Malaysia, A.P.I from Malaysia/India and Raw Earth from Singapore.
