Kuching, Fri: – The Borneo Jazz Festival early bird tickets are now available on sale until February 29.
Early bird price for a one-day entrance ticket is at RM 60.00 for an adult and RM30.00 for children age 7-12 years old while the two-day entrance is priced at RM 100.00 for an adult and RM 40.00 for a child.
Family package for 2 adults and 2 children is also available at RM120.00 and purchases can be made online via the festival website at www.jazzborneo.com
The two-day annual festival of Jazz music will be from Friday, May 13 till Saturday, May 14 at the ParkCity Everly Hotel in Miri and will be featuring some top line-ups rendering a wide range of world-wide jazz genre.
The 11th edition of the festival will feature the Kuala Lumpur based “Funkatorie” taking the stage with seven other great bands from all over the world.
A soul-funk-jazz band originally known as the Organ Trio, Funkatorie expanded with the addition of horn players, thus diversifying their musical style and being influenced by the likes of Soulive, Maceo Parker and Joey Defrancesco,
The group is made up of highly-regarded musicians, with mastermind organist, Hin Ee Jeng, Miri-born and bred guitarist, Dean Sim, drummer Derrick Siow, saxophonist Yow Weng Wai and trumpet player Eddie Wen.
Besides Funkatorie, the seven confirmed bands are the Raw Earth from Singapore, API from Malaysia/India, O Sister! from Spain, Klazz Brothers from Germany/Cuba, Yuichiro Tokuda from Japan, Manou Gallo Groove Orchestra from Ivory Coast/Belgium and the Rad Trads from New York, USA.
