DIRTY DOZEN BACK IN MIRI WITH 35 YEARS OF JAZZ

Kuching, Monday: Dirty Dozen, will bring back its 35 glorious years of the New Orleans style Jazz to Borneo Jazz which will be held on May 8 and 9 at ParkCity Everly Hotel in Miri.

Their kind of jazz combines traditional marching band style with modern jazz genre keeping its own style of unique mixture which addresses all age groups.

Founded in 1977 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the band’s style evolves with a traditional jazz which was later commercialize based on Bebop, TV music and other genres.

Last performing at the Borneo Jazz Festival in 2007, the band is releasing its new album, a seamlessly blends R&B, Jazz, Funk, Afro-Latino and Caribbean music called “Twenty Dozen” this year in commemoration of its 35th anniversary of Jazz music.

Jazz lovers may be able to have a taste of this album at their homecoming at Borneo Jazz Festival in the Resort City of Miri.

Jazz lovers were reminded again of the early bird tickets which will be priced at RM80.00 for family package of 2 adults and 2 children (7-12 years of age), RM25.00 for 2-day child pass and RM15.00 for 1-day child pass.

An adult pass for early bird is RM60.00 for 2-day pass and RM40.00 for 1-day pass and the early bird sales will end on April 15, 2015.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketcharge.com.my and are also available at TicketCharge Call Centre, TicketCharge’s Kuala Lumpur and Penang offices and all TicketCharge authorized outlets in the region.

In Sarawak tickets are available at Speedy Video outlets at Plaza Merdeka and the Spring Mall in Kuching and at Speedy Video Outlet in Bintang Plaza, Imperial Mall and Boulevard Shopping Centre in Miri.

Tickets are also available at the various Visitors’ Information Centre in Miri, Sibu and Kuching.

 For its special 10th Anniversary of Jazz celebration, Sarawak Tourism Board will feature past year’s best performers’ lineup bringing back to favorite performers.
