STAGE CONSTRUCTION FOR BORNEO JAZZ CONCERT UNDERWAY

MIRI, Wednesday – Stage construction at the Parkcity Everly Hotel in Miri, Sarawak began on Tuesday for this Friday’s Borneo Jazz concert and is expected to complete by today.

Corporate Communications Director of Sarawak Tourism Board, Angelina Bateman says the organiser are also at the final stage of setting up the Pavilion area within the festival ground for the opening of Borneo Jazz tomorrow night.

“The whole area’s will be completely ready for the festival on Friday with more than 22 units of Food and Village Mart will surround the festival compound”.  She also added that the stage is expected to be ready by today with final sounds and light test taking place tonight.

The festival stage will be the same size as last year that will hold four Jazz group performances each night on Friday and Saturday event. Borneo Jazz has grown steadily since its first edition in 2006, going from 3,000 spectators eight years ago to over 8,000 last year.
