ONE OF THE MOST HERALDED CAPELLA GROUP COMING TO BORNEO JAZZ

KUCHING, Friday – Flown in from Canada, The Nylons, a four-member capella group are one of the most heralded vocal groups in the world with seven gold and platinum records and sales more than 2 million to their credit.

The Nylons are renowned for their vibrant live shows, featuring dazzling harmonies, smooth arrangements, tight choreography, and fabulous showmanship. Their rapport with their audiences makes them perennial favourites for all age groups.

The group has performed over 1000 concerts in dozens of tours worldwide including Japan, Korea, China, Australia, Europe, Brazil, the US, and Canada.

The Nylons have received numerous awards and accolades including their gold and platinum records, a Tokyo Music Festival award, and a Canadian Juno nomination for BEST JAZZ VOCAL ALBUM 2011 for their 15th release SKIN TIGHT. This CD features an eclectic collection of jazz standards, original songs and well known classics.

Their first album went gold in only two months and eventually went on to become a Canadian platinum seller with big hits Up The Ladder To The Roof and The Lion Sleeps Tonight made popular in the movie ‘The Lion King’. Their recordings have also been played to the astronauts on the NASA Space Shuttle.

Borneo Jazz 2013 takes place in Miri from 10-11 May 2013. Be sure not to miss this fantastic a capella group from Canada. Joining this group will be another 7 bands all of whom are award winners.
