MTV’S Artiste Manuo Gallo Groove Orchestra To Grace Borneo Jazz Stage

Kuching, Tues:- MTV Africa’s best performing artist from Ivory Coast, Manou Gallo is set to grace this years’ Borneo Jazz stage.

Born in Ivory Coast and raised in Belgium, Manou is an established bassist, guitarist, percussionist, singer and songwriter and is considered to be a cut above the rest in her fusion-Jazz.

Mixing her African roots with blues, funk and contemporary soul music reflecting her colourful heritage, she has released three albums and had her own musical documentary “Manou Gallo, Rhythm Gal”.

Her success include being awarded the prestigious in the TOP 10 of “The most influential African bass players of the world stage” in 2013 by Forbes Africa Magazine.

Alongside fellow musicians with jazz and classical backgrounds, Manou is the maestro, creating a festive show overflowing with groove and funk with an afro-beat.

Besides the Manou Gallo Groove Orchestra, the jazz festival will also feature seven bands including the Klazz Brothers & Cuba Percussion from Germany/Cuba, Raw Earth from Singapore, A.P.I from Malaysia/India and the O Sister! from Spain,

Also taking the stage are Funkatorie from Malaysia, Yuichiro Tokuda’s RALYZZDIG from Japan and The Rad Trads from New York.

Tickets are available at pre-sale prices with adult passes selling at RM80.00 for a one-day pass and RM140.00 for a two-day pass.  For children ages between seven to 12 years, ticket is priced at RM40.00 for the one-day pass and RM60.00 for the two-day pass.  Family package is also available, with two adult passes and two child passes for RM160.00.

Special price pre-sale tickets can be purchased online at the festival’s website at www. jazzborneo.com and will only be available until May 12.

The two-day festival will be staged from Friday, May 13 until till Saturday, May 14 at the ParkCity Everly Hotel in Miri.

It is organized by the Sarawak Tourism Board, endorsed by Tourism Malaysia and is jointly supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia and Ministry of Tourism, Sarawak.
